EU Special Representative for South Caucasus to visit Baku
Baku, February 22 (AzerTAc). EU special representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby will visit Azerbaijan on February 25.
As part of the visit, Semneby will have meetings with Azerbaijani officials to discuss the situation in Azerbaijan and South Caucasus.
It will be Semneby`s last visit to Azerbaijan as EU Special Representative because his mandate expiries on February 28.
The office of the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus was established in 2006 on the basis of joint decision with the EU Council. Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs said last year that the Organization intends to abolish offices of special representatives for Moldova, South Caucasus and Middle East. EU has 11 special representatives for different regions of the world now.
