Memory of Khojaly genocide`s victims honored in Indonesia
Baku(AzerTAc) - A commemorative event to mark the 19th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide has been held in Kharisma Bangsa School of Global Education in Indonesia.
The event was attended by the teaching staff of the school, students and journalists.
The event participants viewed an exhibition on the Khojaly tragedy and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Opening the event, Azerbaijani ambassador Ibrahim Hajiyev briefed the participants on the Khojaly massacre and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He said Armenia`s aggressive policy resulted in the occupation of more than 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories. The diplomat added as a result of the occupation, over one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs within their country.
He underlined Armenians also destructed historical and cultural monuments, schools, healthcare facilities, libraries in the occupied territories.
Hajiyev also spoke of the Justice for Khojaly campaign, initiated by the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, General Coordinator of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, Leyla Aliyeva.
The participants also saw a documentary on the genocide.
