DEFENSE ATTACHES MUST SUPPORT RI'S DIPLOMACY: MILY CHIEF
Jakarta, Aug 19 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Military (TNI) Chief Gen Djoko Santoso said defense attaches must be able to support the country's foreign diplomacy within the frame of free and active foreign policy.
"The main task of Indonesian defense attaches is to ensure the success of our foreign mission and policy, increase and foster diplomatic relations related to armed forces," he said when opening a course for defense attaches in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday.
In addition, defense attaches also served as analyst officers and strategic intelligent agents, the TNI chief said.
Under the point 6 of the military operations, the TNI was also tasked with keeping global peace in accordance with the country's foreign policy, he said.
The course which will last until Nov 28 is participated in by 44 officers consisting of 21 from the Army, 12 from the Navy and 11 from the Air Force.
