FOUR JI MEMBERS RELEASED FROM M'SIAN JAIL TAKEN TO JAKARTA
Kuala Lumpur, Aug 19 (ANTARA) - Indonesian anti terror police have taken four Indonesian Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) members released by Malaysian authorities from Kemunting Taping jail in Perak state to Jakarta, a source at the Indonesian Embassy here said.
The four were part of 13 Indonesians incarcerated in the Kemunting Taping jail under Malaysia's Internal Security Act (ISA) which allows persons suspected of being a threat to national security to be detained without trial for indefinite time.
"They were taken to Kuala Lumpur International Airport by members of (Indonesia's) Special Detachment at 16.30 last Friday and they must have been in Jakarta since that day," the source said Tuesday.
The four were identified as Abdullah Minyak bin Silam, Shahrial bin Sirin, Zainudin bin Suharno, and Jaki bin Hamid.
"Zainudin bin Suharno once joined the Mujahidin in Ambon and later the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), He and Jaki were captured in Sandakan waters carrying M16 rifles," the source said.
