Iran to export Iran-140 aircraft

Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA – Head of Iran's Aviation Industry Organization Manouchehr Manteqi said the necessary ground has been prepared for export of Iran-140 aircraft.
Making the remarks in a meeting with the IRNA chief and editors here Saturday, he said that the Iran-140 aircraft started their test flights in the Tehran-Isfahan route and they were by now having four flights per week in the same route.
As for the characteristics of these airplanes, he said they are considered as good aircraft and they are being used for European destinations.
He said Iran-140 will be recruited in provinces and those spots where good roads are not accessible.
Manteqi further noted that the Iranian aviation industry has managed to achieve the standards currently used in Europe and the US, adding that the Iranian corridors have proven to be the shortest connection routes between east and west which makes them a very economical route to use for international airliners.
The official went on to note that as a result of a number of joint research projects with Iranian universities and scientific centers his organization was already producing two types of airplane engines.
Pointing to the many capabilities of the Iranian aviation industries, he further said that Iran will turn into one of world’s biggest names in the aviation industries sector./end
