Doubts over Paris competency to host disarmament conference

Tehran, Mar 1, IRNA – French governments’ long-term support for the Zionist regime’s dangerous nuclear program has raised doubts about France's competency to host a conference which is to be held in the coming months to find ways of nuclear disarmament.

The issue has also raised doubts about success of the meeting.
An American official has said France will host a conference on disarmament by end of 2011.

The American official’s doubtful reference to likelihood of disarmament and building necessary confidence are the two axes to be discussed in the conference. It shows that there is still firm attitude towards nuclear disarmament and easing the threat which the nuclear issue might pose to mankind.

News and comments point to the fact that the conference, if held, would help build confidence among the nuclear countries and if such a trust is built the possibility of nuclear arms will be discussed.

Now several decades have passed since the US used atomic bombs against defenseless people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and tested other types of weapons of mass destruction in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

However, the West which has been the first to produce and proliferate such arms, does not keep its promise of easing nuclear threats but keep on making efforts to expand these arms particularly in sensitive areas.

The forged Zionist regime which was founded at the heart of Muslim state of Palestine after World War II by the West, especially the UK, is among the regimes equipped with hundreds of nuclear warheads.

Based on the incoming reports, the Zionist regime of Israel, which owns nearly 700 nuclear warheads, poses serious threats to world security and peace and is a matter of concern in the Middle East.

It is not yet clear whetrher the meeting tol be held in Paris, would take any measure in that connection. Of course the answer to this question is negative.

That’s because the French government has traditionally been among supporters of Israel. top officials of the Zionist regime admit that Paris has been playing a main role in equipping and supplying the regime with nuclear technology as well as weapons of mass destruction, especially nuclear arms.

Israeli President Shimon Peres in a visit to Paris in March 2007 said Israel is proud of such a loyal friend as France. He said France pays much attention to Israel and it has provided some of its most sophisticated planes, arms and missiles for the regime.

Russia too has repeatedly announced that is not ready to set a date for talks with the US on reduction of their nuclear weapons./end
