Sharjah Ruler oversees development measures in Kalba

Sharjah, March 1, 2011 (WAM) - His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday inspected the Kalba City marine facilities, the fishing harbour and the Kalba Corniche.
He was accompanied by senior officials and representatives of consulting firms engaged in the modernisation of the area.
After giving directives for sustainable development of the marine facilities, Dr Sheikh Sultan proceeded to the city area where he inaugurated the branch office of the Department of Human Resources in Kalba.
After cutting the traditional ribbon, he toured various departments, where he was briefed on the 2011-2011 strategy for Emiratisation and the human resources development programme.
The programme includes the ‘Thiqa' initiative which provides national university graduates with the necessary career training as per the needs of the market.
Later, Dr Sheikh Sultan inaugurated a new campus of the University of Sharjah which is the second in the Eastern region after the Khor Fakkan campus. He also announced the setting up of a satellite television station in Kalba. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
