Mohammed bin Zayed receives Spanish Prime Minister
Abu Dhabi, March 1, 2011 (WAM) - General His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received in Abu Dhabi yesterday Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and his accompanying delegation.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Zapatero and said that his visit to the UAE reflected the strong and progressive relations between the two countries.
He emphasised the keenness of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to further bolster UAE's ties with the Kingdom of Spain.
For his part, the Spanish Prime Minister said that his country attached great importance to its bilateral relations with the UAE. He praised the wise approach adopted by the UAE in addressing all issues.
During the meeting attended by Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed and Zapatero reviewed ways to enhance ties and discussed latest developments in Libya.
The two sides called regional and international communities to intensify their humanitarian aid to ease the plight of the Libyan people.
The meeting was attended by Justice Minister Dr Hadef Joan Al Dhaheri, Under Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, CEO of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Ambassador to Madrid Dr Hasa Abdullah Al Otaiba, and Spanish Ambassador Gonzalo de Benito. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
