HH the Amir expresses appreciation for participants in nat''l celebrations

KUWAIT, March 1 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday expressed great satisfaction at the various celebrations that marked Kuwait National Days and voiced deep gratitude to the participants and organizers as well as the attendees including ranking foreign figures and leaders.
, HH the Amir, in a forecast address to the people of Kuwait, recalled on the national occasions the late national leaders, namely the former Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Father Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the martyrs and the allied nations that helped Kuwait for liberation from the occupation.
"We celebrate these delightful and glorious national days, the 50th anniversary of the independence and 20th anniversary of the liberation and the fifth anniversary of our accession to the rule, with sentiments of joy filling our hearts and the hearts of members of all families, while the cordial sentiments among the citizens have become deeper, manifesting the bonds of cooperation, the faithfulness toward the homeland and the bonding between the ruler and the ruled," HH the Amir started his speech to the people.
Sheikh Sabah said he had closely followed up on the national celebrations, that he was deeply pleased to see them bringing pl easure to the citizens and residents, noting that the nationals' manifestation of patriotic sentiments reflected their deep-rooted faithfulness to the homeland.
HH the Amir added that he was deeply touched by the performance of the operetta, "the homeland .. but the homeland," by the Kuwaiti children, the sincere feelings of all citizens of all ages, as well participation citizens of special needs "who had come to Dar Salwa with one million roses, as an expression of their true love for their homeland and Amir.
"May Allah bless them as well as their parents who implanted in them such great patriotic feelings and prepared them for the future of Kuwait, these are the faithful children and the youth of the prosperous future."
HH the Amir expressed deep gratitude to the citizens who set an example for marking the national occasions in a civilized manner, with their participation in the celebrations of "our national days through their great contributions in these dazzling festivities.
"Sons of my country, you have manifested the true image of your home to the world, you are its decoration and the light, its present and prosperous future, by Allah's will." Sheikh Sabah expressed great appreciation for the state departments, ministries, civil associations and private establishments for their sincere efforts. He also thanked the press and the audio-visual media for the extensive coverage of the celebratory activities and congratulated the military authorities on the successful and impressive military parade that involved units of the allied states.
"I would like also to extend felicitations to all who expressed congratulations to Kuwait on the national occasions through the communication ne tworks and the media, locally or externally," he added.
Sheikh Sabah recalled on the occasion the late great national leaders, the former Amir, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Father Amir, Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, namely their "patriotic role and their efforts and accomplishments for the service of our dear homeland.
"We also remember the faithful martyrs, the prisoners and the missing who sacrificed themselves for the defense of the dear homeland and watered its pure soil with their blood." Moreover, HH the Amir noted the brave and honorable stands of the friendly and sisterly states that stood on the side of Kuwait during its hardships and deployed forces for the liberation of the country, till the international legitimacy became victorious and Kuwait free." HH the Amir thanked all leaders of Arab and friendly states, the delegations and representatives of Arab, regional and international organizations that took part in the celebrat ions. "We won't forget their courageous stands for Kuwait and its causes," His Highness concluded.
