Caucasus`s largest cement plant to be constructed in Baku
The Caucasus`s largest cement plant, Gizildash Sement is going to be built in the Garadagh district, Baku after Azerbaijan`s Norm LLC and China Triumph International Engineering Co, LTD have signed a respective contract.
The plant will be manufacturing 5,000 tons of cement and clinker daily and 2 million tons of cement yearly.
The plant will come on stream at the end of 2013.
The project budget is USD 400 million. The plant itself will employ 400 people and quarries 100-150 workers. In addition, 2,500 people will be working in such related sectors as chemistry, transport, fuel and other sectors.
Production of 100,000 tons of oil-well cement, which is not manufactured in the Caspian region and meets API (American Petroleum Institute) standards, will make Azerbaijan an exporter of cement for oil producers.
