Paris hosts conference on Azerbaijan`s foreign policy

Baku, March 4 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s embassy in Paris has hosted a conference on the country`s foreign policy.
The conference, organized in collaboration with the France-Europe-Asia Institute, was titled “Azerbaijan`s foreign policy: opportunities and threats”.
The event was attended by French senators, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Paris, government bodies and private companies and experts of scientific research centers.
Speakers at the conference included Reno Abor de Chatillon, head of the France-Europe-Asia Institute, Senator Ambroise Dupont, head of Senate's France-Caucasus Friendship Committee, and Elchin Amirbayov, Azerbaijan`s ambassador.
They highlighted Azerbaijan`s history, the country`s economic successes, its contribution to strengthening interfaith and cultural dialogue, the country`s role in ensuring Europe`s energy security, as well as the challenges faced by Azerbaijan, in particular, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The speakers` remarks were followed by a question-and-answer session with Ambassador Amirbayov who responded to a wide range of questions covering Azerbaijan`s relations with its neighbors, in particular, Iran and Russia, the country`s energy achievements and prospects of increasing French companies` involvement in projects carried out in Azerbaijan.
