Iran's new consul general in Tatarstan submits his credentials

Moscow, March 5, IRNA – Iran's new consul general in Tatarstan Republic submitted his credentials to Russian Foreign Ministry officials on Friday.

Rasoul Shayan, as Iran's consul general in Kazan, capital of Tatarstan Republic, started his work.

Tatarstan Republic is one of republics of Russia Federation where many Muslims live. It has high capacity in culture, economy, trade and technology.

The republic has a wide range of cooperation with Iran's northwestern provinces in economic, commerce and cultural fields and Kazan has established sister city relationship with Tabriz, capital of east Azerbaijan province.

Tatarstan has 3,800,000 people with a surface of 67,000 square kilometers in Russia's Volga area./end
