GCC Chief lauds Kuwaiti Emir's efforts to clear the atmosphere between Oman and UAE

Riyadh - March 6, 2011 (WAM) - Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of the Gulf Arab States (GCC) Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Attiya has lauded the efforts of H.H Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait to clear the atmosphere between the two countries of the United Arab Emirates, UAE, and the Sultanate of Oman.
"The wisdom and prudence of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the GCC Supreme Council, and H.M Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Sultan of Oman, and their strong belief in a common destiny have contributed to the success of these efforts and to promoting the interests of the two countries and their peoples," Al-Attiya said in a statement.
"H.M Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Sultan of Oman received His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces reflect H.M Sultan Qaboos' keen interest in promoting relations to wider horizons," he added.
"The positive developments in the UAE-Omani relations will be effectively instrumental in solidifying the GCC march towards the highest levels of coordination and cooperation, the best interests of joint action and to promoting regional stability and prosperity," the GCC Secretary General concluded. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
