Nakhchivan to host International Chess Festival
Baku, March 11 (AzerTAc). An International Chess Festival dedicated to the 88th anniversary of architect and founder of Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev will be held from April 23 to May 1 at the Nakhchivan Chess Center.
The aim of the festival is to commemorate Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as to develop and popularize chess in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The Swiss system tournament will be held in 9 rounds.
The total prize fund of the tournament amounts to $ 66500.
