Azerbaijan, Albania: gas-oil co-op discussed
Baku, March 11 (AzerTAc). President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnaq Abdullayev met Thursday with Albania`s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto.
Haxhinasto said that Azerbaijan`s development raised great interest in Albania, noting opportunities for cooperation between two countries in oil and gas sector. Albanian minister highly praised SOCAR`s role in the implementation of regional projects, stressing Albania-based companies` interest in cooperation with SOCAR.
SOCAR`s president Abdullayev provided with information about achievements in Azerbaijan`s oil-gas industry.
Albanian minister highly praised the prospects of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline – the project allowing gas to flow directly from the Caspian basin and Middle East into the European markets. Abdullayev, in turn, noted that Azerbaijan supports realization of South Corridor project.
The sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
