Azerbaijani youth to study in US universities
Baku, March 12 (AzerTAc). Representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan met with delegation led by US President`s science envoy Alice Gast.
According to Ministry`s press service, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov informed the guests on ministry`s activity, state programs and large-scale projects realized by ministry, noting progresses achieved in information-communication sector in Azerbaijan.
Abbasov reported on “Trans-Eurasia Super Information Mainline” highly praising its importance for the region. He stressed USA`s and Europe`s great interest in the project.
In her turn, Ms. Gast noted the remarkable positive changes in science sphere in Azerbaijan. She said that US is ready for assistance for further IT education of Azerbaijani youth in the U.S., and informed of her aspiration for deeper close cooperation in this direction.
US President`s science envoy also expressed readiness to render necessary assistance to bring attention to the introduction of scientific achievements in economy and production, realization of innovative ideas and achievement of the production process in Azerbaijan on the basis of scientific results, and such areas as energy, information technologies and nanotechnologies.
U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan, Matthew Bryza also attended the event.
