Tehran, March 13, IRNA –Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said change in the United Arab Emirates' outlook towards the Three Iranian islands of Abu Musa, Greater and Lesser Tunbs can be a good step towards correcting that country's policy on the issue.

Mehmanparast, speaking to journalists on Saturday, was reacting to the statement of 118th meeting of foreign ministers of Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC). The ministers decided to remove the issue of Iranian islands from the agenda of PGCC ministerial meetings.

According to Foreign Ministry's Media Department, Mehmanparast said, 'Iran has always been ready for mutual and direct negotiations based on the 1971 agreement on the misunderstanding about the islands.'
