“Azerbaijani mugham and Middle East music” symposium underway in Baku

Baku, March 16 (AzerTAc). A scientific symposium “Azerbaijani mugham and Middle Eastern music” has continued here as part of the “Mugham world” second International Mugham Festival.
American scientist William Samthin and Russian art critic Ramilla Janizadeh were chairmen of the symposium in the first half of the day.
Representative of UNESCO, Professor of the Paris National Centre for Scientific Researches Jean Duhring made a report “The place of Azerbaijani mugham in Caucasus and Iran environment”.
The scientist informed participants on the mugham`s spread in the region, its historical path and role in modern cultural civilaziation.
About 12 reports will be made by art critics from Azerbaijan, US, Turkey, Russia, Iran, Germany, Uzbekistan, Chine and other countries.
