Azerbaijan, Ukraine discuss military and technical cooperation

Baku, Mart 16 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Defense Minister Safar Abiyev met Wednesday Ukrainian counterpart Mikhail Yezhel to discuss military and technical cooperation between the two countries.
Abiyev said Azerbaijan and Ukraine had strategic relations on all levels, and to develop them even more is one of “our aims”.
The ministers also discussed the military and political situation in the region.
Abiyev noted Armenia`s military aggression against Azerbaijan resulted in the occupation of 20 percent of the country`s territories. As a result of the occupation, more than one million Azerbaijanis were driven out from their original lands, the Minister added.
He underlined the OSCE Minsk Group`s efforts to resolve the conflict give no concrete results so far.
The Minister also pointed out Armenia does not honor international organizations` resolutions on withdrawal of military forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. He added in such a situation Azerbaijan had no other way but taking serious and necessary measures to liberate its territories. “We are expanding our activity in this direction.”
The ministers also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
