Canada marks Novruz holiday
Baku, March 17 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan Embassy in Canada and Azeri community co-organized celebration on Novruz holiday on Wednesday.
Opening the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Canada Farid Shafiyev said the United Nations General Assembly recognized March 21 as International Novruz Day throughout the world. He also informed participants on traditions, history and rituals of Novruz holiday.
The celebration featured examples of Azerbaijani cuisine and holiday candies in national khonchas (holiday tray).
