Switzerland to host NATO PfP Workshop on role of parliaments in arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation of WMD
Baku, March 23 (AzerTAc). The Swiss Federal Department for Foreign Affairs, the NATO Non-Proliferation Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Centre, the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) will co-host the Partnership for Peace (PfP) Workshop on “The role of parliaments in arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD)” in Geneva on 31 March - 1 April.
The objective of the workshop is to promote the role of parliaments in arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation of WMD and to raise awareness among the members of parliaments about their role in this important political issue-area.
Through in-depth discussions, dialogue, the exchange of experiences and best practices, the workshop aims at fostering greater transparency and accountability in disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation of WMD. Members of the parliaments of NATO member states and PfP states as well as eminent experts will participate in the workshop.
Azerbaijan will be represented by MP Malahat Ibrahimgızi.
