UK official visits Azerbaijan University of Languages

Baku, March 29 (AzerTAc). Chair of the Women Leaders' Council to Fight Human Trafficking at UN, senior member of the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Committee, member of the House of Lords and UK-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Baroness Mary Goudie has visited the Azerbaijan University of Languages, where she met rector of the facility, MP Samad Seyidov on Monday.
Professor Samad Seyidov highlighted the relations with Essex University of United Kingdom and stressed the boosting cooperation between the Azerbaijan University of Language and UK`s universities.
He said that in accordance with agreement between the Azerbaijan University of Languages and the University of Essex, Azerbaijani students are continuing their education there and after graduation they will get double-diploma. Rector also touched upon the opening of new departments and centers in the university.
Ms. Mary Goudie expressed her pleasure for being at the University. She appreciated the cooperation between the Essex University and the Azerbaijan University of Languages, stressing the University of Essex is one of the authoritative universities in UK.
Samad Seyidov also stressed the importance of relations with his counterparts in UK`s parliamentary and spotlighted Azerbaijan-UK Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group`s activity and boosting cooperation.
Baroness Mary Goudie said that student exchange is necessary to expand the relations between Azerbaijan and UK.
The guest familiarized herself with the Information Resource Complex of the University.
