Kuwaiti participation at Dubai information security forum "productive"

(with photos) DUBAI, April 21 (KUNA) -- First Computer Engineer at the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), Dept. of technology and Infrastructure Unit Kuwaiti Engineer Husain Al-Safran said participation at the Security Strategist Forum and Awards 2011 in Dubai was productive and beneficial.
Speaking to KUNA after presenting a working paper at the event Thursday, he said he addressed general governance in terms of risk management and commitment to technical service criteria in the field of information technology.
His paper proposes a framework to unify technical policy and procedures as well as save time and effort as bodies are brought together as one working cell. This approach would increase the standard of state employees' experiences in the field and save money, time, and effort to be put i nto actual and necessary improvement of services offered to the public, he noted.
The one-day event saw participation of over 100 leading figures and specialists from the Gulf countries who addressed many challenges facing information security.
Al-Safran is member of the Gulf Cooperation Council's Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), and also member of the Arab working team working on domain names and internet affairs at Arab League.
