ALBERT HUANG AND SIDDHIC ASTROLOGY By Ravichandran D.J. Paul

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) - In the quest to know what the future holds, many often turn to astrology for answers.

But can astrology provide reliable answers to our quest in life. While astrological predictions may not convince everyone, for people like Albert Huang Jiunn Min it has provided the fundamentals in making accurate predictions in many of his undertakings.

Huang, in his 40s, who has done extensive evaluation and analysis on
credit, market and economy in his 16 years career in the financial field came to
realisation that you need more than field data to get your predictions right.

He has always been fascinated with astrology since younger days and in a
matter of time he realised that there is more to astrology than predicting the
future.

Now Huang who has masters degrees in financial planning and business
administration, and a host of other qualifications in the financial field, has
embarked on a lesser-known but more precise Indian astrology, the Siddhic
astrology (abridged coinage).

Huang has no intention of becoming a soothsayer but believes that the
highly accurate Siddhic astrology can be used to observe the financial markets,
sports results and matters of interest to him.

But why opt for Siddhic astrology? To this Huang has this to say; "I
analysed the underlying principles of the Indian and Western astrology and found
predictive qualities of the former being more precise. Furthermore the
literature available on Indian astrology in English is in-exhaustive".

Initially he took up the Vedic astrology practiced by Indians in north
India and later got to know of the more precise Siddhic astrology practiced in
the south of the sub-continent.

Coincidentally, Arvind Archarya a renowned local practitioner of this
branch of astrology has been imparting his knowledge to enthusiasts here.

Today, Albert Huang is among the 24 students of Arvind who have progressed
to level two of the Siddhic Astrology course conducted in Brickfields.

Siddhic astrology is a term coined by Arvind for the ancient astrology of
the Siddhars, the Tamil sages who used astrology to diagnose and heal ailments.

Though it pales in comparison with the Vedic astrology when comes to
popularity, Huang is impressed with the preciseness of its predictions.

Based on Siddhic astrology, Huang had predicted the outcome of the latest
Euro Cup matches with 90 percent accuracy.

Like other astrology systems, the forecast is based on a standard set of
principles anchored on the astrological characteristics of the planets. However,
the hallmark of Siddhic astrology is in correcting the time of
birth/origin.

In Siddhic astrology, the time of birth/origin is automatically corrected
according to three major events undergone by a person for example the date of
marriage, date of employment, date of big wins or the loss of a close family
member to ensure greater accuracy of predictions.

The date of birth of the founder or chief executive officer or the date of
incorporation is used for predictions involving companies and for a nation the
prediction is based on the date of independence or major turning points or
upheavals.

A 15 second difference in time or 15 mile difference in birthplace can make
a big difference in the prediction.

Another unique feature of Siddhic astrology is that it is not fatalistic. As
the astrology originates from the healing tradition, it emphasises that with the
appropriate attitude and effort one can alter the course of destiny.

Huang provided an example if a person is always pessimistic or fearful,
this is probably due to a maligned Saturn in the birth chart. Such attitude is a
serious impediment to one's life and can be remedied by emphasising a change in
the mental attitude to positive thinking.

So the greatest `parigaram' (remedy) in Siddhic astrology is not mantra,
yantra (ritual), or gemstones as often recommended by other astrological systems
but the human mind itself.

Huang believes that with the guidance of his mentor Arvind, he can take
Siddhic astrology into the business realm.

Huang and Arvind are the new generation of astrologers smartly dressed in
their suits unlike their traditional counterparts. They are taking astrology
into the business world, a trend that is increasingly gaining acceptance even in
the West.

Huang is confident that Siddhic astrology can be immensely useful in all
aspects of business.

"If you're beginning a new business, I can determine the best time or
`murutha' for you to begin and the right business for you.

"For example those ruled by mercury in their astrological chart it is best
that they venture into trading and not something else.

"If you plan to diversify or switch business, I can tell you the chances of
success in your undertaking," he said.

Huang is also into another segment of astrology known as horary, which
provides answers to specific questions like "Should I hire this person? Lease
this or buy this property? Can I enter into business partnership with this
person? Invest in this company or takeover the company?

He believes he could work with open-minded people and businesses to help
them achieve the desired results and why not consider astrology when throughout
history the stars have guided humankind in finding their destiny.
