INIC Launches Website to Support Registration of Nanotechnology Patents

TEHRAN, May 10 (FNA)- Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council launched an online system on its website to provide support for the registration of nanotechnology related patents.
The organizers of the system also sought to facilitate the acceptance of requests for financial supports for invention registration and to receive complete and correct information about the invention to be judged faster and more easily by the referees.

The system kicked off working recently with the aim of supporting the invention registration in the field of nanotechnology.

According to the directive for supporting the invention registration in the field of nanotechnology approved by Intellectual Properties Committee of the INIC, the Council supports invention registration in the field of nanotechnology. Therefore, Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council will pay 80% of the cost of invention registration in a trustable patenting organization such as EPO and USPTO, up to 100 million rials ($10,000).

Also, according to the directive, in case the owners of any of the registered patents that are supported by Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council succeed in the commercialization of the patent, they will receive 200 million rials ($20,000) from Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council as stimulus support.

The system to receive online requests for supporting nanotechnology invention registration creates a multi-directional connection between the inventor, scientific referee, and patent attorney, and it makes possible for the patent attorneys to receive complete information they need from the inventor to solve the problems caused by incomplete transfer of information. The inventor can be informed of the referee's decision in the least possible time.
