Dubai Cares team conclude field visits to Comoro Islands, Mauritania and Sierra Leone

Dubai, May 30, 2011 (WAM) - Dubai Cares Team have recently concluded the field tour to Comoro Islands, Mauritania and Sierra Leone to assess progress in the basic education programmes being implemented by the charity organisation there.
Launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Sept. 2007, Dubai Cares implements the basic education programmes in the countries that face shortage in the basic education to help children there get good basic education. Implemented in 24 countries worldwide, the educational programmes shouldered by Dubai Cares, reflect the UAE's commitment to the second goal of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals till 2015, to ensure provision of the basic education and other related programmes to children in poor countries worldwide.
Tariq Al Qurq, CEO of Dubai Cares, said the organisation upon the directives by Sheikh Mohammed follows up the implementation phases to realise the UN goals and ensure better education to the needy children. He added the team visited 25 schools out of 88 being supported by Dubai Cares in Comoro Islands. They also visited 10 schools in Mauritania and others in Sierra Leone. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
