MONGOLIAN BOOKS REGISTERED IN DOCUMENTARY HERITAGE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The 10th Meeting of the International Advisory Committee (IAC) held May 22-25 in Manchester, the United Kingdom, made a recommendation to the UNESCO Director-General to register 45 documentary heritages out of some 80 ones nominated as the documentary heritages in frames of the Memory of the World Programme (MWP).
The Mongolian "Altan tovch" and "Mongol shunkhan danjuur" books have been registered in the heritages of the MWP. The recommendation of the IAC has been endorsed by the Director-General. Thus, the Mongolian books and documentary heritages from Japan, Bulgaria and Switzerland have been registered at the UNESCO.
The MWP was founded in 1992 with purposes to preserve and promote documentary heritage, improve mass knowledge about the documentary heritages, and to distribute to the public by putting them in electronic version.
