Azeri Defense Minister attends meeting of non-NATO countries contributing to operations of ISAF in Brussels

Baku, June 10 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Defense Minister, Colonel-General Safar Abiyev participated in the meeting of defense ministers of non-NATO countries contributing to the operations of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan held in Brussels.
The ministers exchanged views on current state of ISAF operations, development of Afghanistan`s security forces as well as ratified the NATO Rule of Law Field Support Mission for the strengthening of supremacy of law in Afghanistan, according to Azerbaijan Office under the NATO meeting held in NATO Headquarters.
Minister Safar Abiyev also met with the NATO Secretary General`s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai. The discussions focused on Azerbaijan-NATO relations, the increase of mutual operative coordination with NATO, Azerbaijan`s contribution to ISAF operation and exchanged views on the regulation process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
During the visit Azeri minister held a meeting with Polish Defense Minister Bogdan Klich and discussed defense cooperation between the two countries.
