Azerbaijani media representatives meet head of Turkish Press Authority
Baku, June 21 (AzerTAc). A group of Azerbaijani media representatives met with Murat Karakaya, director of the Turkish Directorate General of Press and Information in Ankara.
Heads and representatives of a number of Azerbaijani government agencies` press services and mass media representatives attended the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 9th Turkish Language Olympiads.
Speaking in the meeting, Karakaya highlighted the importance of strengthening ties among media organizations of Azerbaijan, Turkey and other Turkic countries. Recalling the first workshop on media experience which was held in Azerbaijan last year, he stressed the significance of continuation of such events.
Karakaya said preparations are also underway for the second Media Forum of Turkish Speaking countries.
The first Forum was held in Ankara last year with attendance of media representatives of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Northern Cyprus.
Azerbaijani media representatives noted the necessity to learn Turkish media experience, adding they hope that internships would be arranged in the neighboring country for young journalists. They noted there is a particular need to develop media management in Azerbaijan.
