Iran Wins Second Victory in West Asia Basketball Championship

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran's national basketball team won its second victory in the West Asia Basketball Championship with a win against Syria on Friday.
The Iranian outfit defeated the Syrian side 83-62 in the northern Iraqi city of Duhok.

The Islamic Republic fell behind in the first period 13-16, but they managed to pummel the Syrian team 23-11 in the second quarter. Iran outscored Syria 19-18 in the third period, and overpowered them 28-17 in the final quarter to clinch the victory.

The Iranian basketball players edged past Jordan 72-70 in their first match on Thursday.

Iran will take on the host Iraq on Saturday.

Iran is now on top of the table with two wins, followed by Jordan and Syria both with one victory. Iraq is on the bottom with two losses.
