Azerbaijan gains fourth license for London Olympics
Baku, July 4 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani boxer Soltan Migitinov weighing in at 73 kg has won a place in the 2012 Olympics in London after ranking second in the WSB league.
He lost to Ukrainian Sergiy Derevyanchenko in the final. Ukraine subsequently decided to send a stronger fighter to London, so the license has gone to defeated finalist Migitinov.
Migitinov will fight in the weight division up to 75 kg at the Olympics.
Azerbaijan will not be represented in this category at the World Cup qualifying event to be held in Baku in September.
This is Azerbaijan`s fourth Olympic license so far.
The previous London berths were claimed by hammer thrower athlete Dmitry Marshin, taekwondo fighters Farida Azizova and Ramin Azizov.
