Aseela forum chief commends Kuwait''s key cultural role

By Abdelwehab Al-Talbi (with photos) ASEELA, Morocco, July 7 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of Aseela Foundation Forum Mohammed bin Eisa greatly appreciated Kuwait's pioneering cultural role in the Arab world.
"Morocco appreciates Kuwait's great contributions to, and pioneering role in, the Arab cultural space," he said at a dinner party here late Wednesday in honor of a visiting Kuwaiti delegation partaking in the cultural event.
He said Kuwait was pioneering in opening up vistas of cooperation among Arabs in early 1970s, recalling to memory seminars, lectures and meetings hosted by Kuwait for Arab intellectuals from all orientations and sects.
This year's 33rd Aseela Forum spotlights Kuwait's cultural, civilizational, intellectual, literary and creati ve development over the last 50 years, he pointed out.
He lauded the participating Kuwaiti delegation for highlighting the Kuwaiti role in Arab cultural renaissance through its cultural and media foundations.
The 33rd Aseela International Cultural Festival features several exhibitions and activities shedding light on Kuwaiti cultural and other contributions held under the auspices of the Moroccan King. Kuwait is the country guest of honor of this year's Aseela Festival.
The sideline activities include crafts and folklore exhibitions, a photo exhibition on relations and exchanged visits, as well as an exhibition of contemporary Kuwaiti artistic creations.
Around 150 dignitaries from Kuwait are participating in the Forum.
