Azerbaijani, Romanian ruling parties discuss cooperation

Baku, July 12 (AzerTAc). A meeting was held Monday in the office of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) with a delegation of the ruling Democratic Liberal Party of Romania to discuss cooperation.
YAP`s Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary Ali Ahmadov said the Romanian delegation`s visit would contribute to strengthening friendship between the two countries. Ahmadov underlined the importance of relationship between the ruling parties of Romania and Azerbaijan in development of bilateral friendly ties.
He noted the fact that the erection of a monument to Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev and a monument to Romania`s eminent composer George Enescu in Baku had very positive impact on relations among peoples of the two countries.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ahmadov thanked official Bucharest for supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
Mayor of Bucharest`s Sector 2 and vice-president of Romanian Municipalities Association Nekulay Ontsanu praised the development processes in Azerbaijan. He stressed the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in expansion of Azerbaijan-Romania relationship. Ontsanu added the fact that national leader Heydar Aliyev`s monument was erected in Bucharest was a sign of great respect for him.
He also said the participation of Azerbaijan and Romania in several important projects and implementation of AGRI project was a result of bilateral relations based on personal friendship of presidents Ilham Aliyev and Traian Basescu.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ontsanu said Romania backs Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
