Efasi promulgates Kuwaiti Media Association Society  

KUWAIT, July 20 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Mohammad Al-Efasi issued a ministerial decree on Wednesday, logged as 139-A/2011, promulgating the Kuwaiti Media Association.
A ministry statement said the association aims to help along media development in the country and partake in decision making concerning the field, as well as provide counsel and advisory services to decision makers. It is also to launch developmental media programs in the country.
As for membership, the statement said any worker in a state or private sector media body with a specialized academic qualification can seek membership. The board is to be composed of seven members, elected through the General Assembly biennially. The association's fiscal year starts January 1 and ends at the end of December.
The statement said that the ministerial decree stated upon promulgation of the association for an unlimited period, and that its standing order is published in the official gazette, effective as of date of publication.(end) nsa.rf.wsa KUNA
