UAE strongly condemns Oslo attacks

Abu Dhabi, July 24, 2011 (WAM) - The UAE strongly condemned the powerful terror explosion in Norway's capital, Oslo, which rocked government headquarters on Friday and the opening of fire at a youth camp on the island of Utoya. Scores of people were killed and injured in the two terror acts. ''The UAE condemns in the strongest possible terms these terrible, appalling crimes and expresses its full solidarity and standing with the Government of Norway in confronting these criminal acts,'' UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in a statement today. He also expressed sympathy with the Norwegian people, offering heart-felt condolences to families of victims and wishing speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
