Crescent watch on Saturday in anticipation of Ramadan

KUWAIT, July 27 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Crescent Sighting Authority is to convene 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, to watch for the crescent of the new lunar month of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fast.
A statement by the authority, under the Ministry of Justice, said on Wednesday that the authority would convene grouping Deputy Premier and Minister of Justice and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Mohammad Al-Efasi, Justice Undersecretary Abdelaziz Al-Majid, and assistant undersecretaries of the ministry.
The groups is to be co-presided by Head of the Authority and Head of the Court of Appeals Chief Justice Rashed Al-Sharrah, the Deputy Chairman of the Court of Cassations Chief Justice Yusif Al-Mutawwa, and Court of Cass ations Deputy Chairman Chief Justice Ishaq Al-Kanderi.
The statement said the ministry meanwhile encourages anyone who sights the crescent to come forward and record an official testimony to this effect before the authority.
The ministry sought this occasion to extend its best wishes to the Kuwaiti leadership and people on the advent of the holy month.
