India, Kyrgyzstan review bilateral ties
New Delhi, Aug 5 (PTI) India and Kyrgyzstan Friday
comprehensively reviewed the status of bilateral ties in key
economic and defence areas apart from discussing important
regional and global issues including the situation in
Afghanistan.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurlan Aitmurzaev
held Foreign Office Consultations with Sanjay Singh, Secretary
(East) in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The two "comprehensively reviewed the current status of
bilateral relations including their political, economic,
defence and cultural dimensions. They also discussed important
regional and global issues including the situation in
Afghanistan," an Indian ministry release said.
The issue of transport connectivity between India and
Central Asia was in focus during the consultations, it said.
The Kyrgyz side also expressed interest in enhancing the
training of Kyrgyz experts under India's ITEC programme and in
increasing technical cooperation in the conduct of elections.
The two sides agreed to continue regular consultations on
areas of mutual interest, the ministry said.
