GASCO awards Dh695 million EPC contract for Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat (HRS) Gas Pipeline Project
Abu Dhabi, Aug 9, 2011 (WAM) - Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (GASCO) has awarded a Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK) contract for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPC) works for a new Habshan - Ruwais - Shuweihat gas pipeline to Larsen '&' Toubro Limited (L'&'T).
The Project is intended to supply natural Gas to TAKREER's new Refinery Expansion and to ADWEA in Shuwiehat. The size of pipeline between Habshan and Ruwais will be 52'' and between Ruwais and Shuweihat it will be 48'' and overall length of 122 Km. The overall Project Completion Schedule for the Pipeline to Ruwais and Shuweihat is 24 and 26 months respectively.
L'&'T will undertake the Home Office (Design and Procurement) activities from their office near New Delhi India and the team will later move to Site for managing the construction Activities.
These EPC Works will deploy significant quantity of construction equipment, number of workforce of labour, technicians and supervisors at Site while giving top significance to comply with HSE Requirements and ADNOC Code of Practices.
The Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Project was completed early this year. High importance was given to HSE aspects in order to eliminate any adverse impact on the environment and the surrounding community in line with ADNOC HSE Code of Practices.
