Ramadan 19th to be observed as the death anniversary of Late Sheikh Zayed

Abu Dhabi, Aug 18, 2011 (WAM) - The nineteenth day in the month of Ramadan will be observed every year as the death anniversary of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the founder of UAE, it was announced.
Minister of Public Works Chairman of the National Media Council Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan urged all the media organisations in the country to commemorate the death of the late leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
"When we remember the works of the departed leader, who built the modern UAE and its renaissance, we feel sad that he is not among us today. At the same time, we also feel proud about the great achievements he made. The memories about him will live forever in the hearts of the people of this beloved country", said Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
Various media institutions in the country have started preparations to enliven this anniversary through special programmes and printed material shining light on the lost leader and the march into progress he led. The local authorities of Islamic Affairs in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah will be organising a number of events to commemorate the occasion.
The scholars, who have come to the UAE at the invitation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will lead special sermons after Juma prayers on Friday to remember the great virtues of the departed leader. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
