Quarter of a million Palestinians get help from UAE Red Crescent during Ramadan

Occupied Jerusalem - Sept 4, 2011 (WAM) - Over 250,000 Palestinians received hot meals for Iftar from the UAE Red Crescent during the Holy month of Ramadan. Huge canopies were raised in the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque and various places around the refugee camps for serving Iftar meals at sunset throughout the month. Tents were also erected in a number of Palestinian neighbourhoods and villages by the Red Crescent Authority for distributing food parcels among the Palestinians who were observing day-long fasting during the holy month.
Community Institutions and ministries in Palestine assisted in implementing the Iftar programme of the Red Crescent. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
