Al Mansouri stresses UAE is heading towards knowledge economy
Abu Dhabi, Sept 11, 2011 (WAM) - Economy Minister Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri has underlined that the UAE was heading towards the new concepts of knowledge and innovation economy through increment of contribution of knowledge to the Gross Domestic Product. He added this could be attained through focusing on innovation, development of small and medium enterprises and boosting of copyrights.
Al Mansouri made the remarks during his reception of South Korean Ambassador to UAE Kwon Tae-kyun. The two sides discussed the latest economic developments between the two countries, especially the following up the resolutions of the second meeting of the joint economic committee, which addressed the cooperation in the areas of investments in the small and medium enterprises, energy, education, air transport, environment, innovation, copyrights, infrastructure and contracting.
For his part, the Korean envoy praised the investment map launched by the ministry, stressing readiness of his country and a number of Korean companies to be part of that strategic project, which would enhance flow of the investments between the two countries. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
