BJP seeks PM's explanation on blackmoney issue

New Delhi, Sep 14 (PTI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
Wednesday sought an explanation from Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh on the issue of Indian black money stashed abroad,
asking him to spell out steps initiated by the Government to
bring it back.
Charging the Government with lacking in sincerity in
dealing with the issue of black money, BJP spokesman Rajiv
Pratap Rudy termed the steps taken by the Government regarding
the matter so far as a "wishy-washy affair".
"With a fresh list of 100 persons stashing black money
abroad, which includes some Indians, coming out soon, the
people of the nation seek an explanation from the Prime
Minister. The PM should clarify," said Rudy.
The BJP leader claimed that the German Ambassador had said
that Germany was ready to share information on the second list
containing names of Indians, who have stashed black money in
Swiss banks.
Rudy said, "The issue of black money has been raised by
BJP time and again, even as the Supreme Court had formed a
Committee on the matter. Despite all this, BJP feels the
entire effort of the Government is a wishy-washy affair and
it lacks sincerity in dealing with the issue."
The BJP leader said, "This is just the tip of the iceberg.
It is a small revelation that the German Ambassador has said.
This Prime Minister had earlier said that within 100 days of
UPA-II it shall get back all the black money stashed abroad."
