Death toll rises to eight in Bihar

Patna, Sept 19 (PTI) With six more deaths reported from
several areas on Monday, the toll in the powerful earthquake
rose to eight in eastern Indian state Bihar, official sources
said.
While Darbhanga accounted for four deaths, one each
was killed in Nawada, Nalanda, Bhagalpur and Sheorhar
districts.
Among those killed in Darbhanga district, one woman
drowned when she jumped into a river to save life at Usri
village and another of cardiac arrest as she ran out of
her house at Birani.
A man was killed in wall collapse at Kamtaul, while a
youth died of head injury after dashing against a wall while
running for open space in the same district, officials said.
In Bhagalpur a 65-year-old man died of cardiac arrest
as panic spread at a market and an elderly woman died when a
wall caved in at Orhanpur village in Nawada district.
A five-year-old girl died in a wall collapse in
Nalanda's Sabanhua village, Pankaj Kumar (8) died in a house
collapse at Kahtarwa in Sheohar district, the sources said.
