Over 1500 people of 10 villages marooned in floodwater even after 20 days
Ubauro, September 19, 2011 (PPI): Over 1500 villagers including men, women and children of ten villages located in the surrounding of Ubauro town of district Ghotki are marooned in rainwater and having no link to rest of the area even after twenty days. The villages include Arab Goth, Muhammad Bux Goth, Yar Muhammad Goth, Norly Goth, Jar Khan Goth, Bahram Goth, Wazir Ahmed Goth and others of union councils Jangal Malik and Norli.
A man had died and eight others injured due to collapse of walls and roof during the rains. A group of journalists when visited the marooned villages, the villagers told that no government official or NGO ever came for their help. They said waterborne diseases have spread in the area due to stagnant rainwater and consuming contaminated water for drinking purpose.
