SINGAPORE TO HOST WORLD ENTREPRENEURSHIP FORUM NEXT MONTH
SINGAPORE, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- The World Entrepreneurship Forum, the first global think tank dedicated to entrepreneurship creating wealth and social justice, will be held in Singapore from Nov 2-5.
This is the fourth edition of the forum and is the first to be held in Asia and in Singapore.
France was the venue for the last three years.
The forum in Singapore is expected to draw 130 entrepreneurship experts and thought leaders from 60 countries.
They will discuss ideas and generate action plans based on the theme, "Entrepreneurship – A Driver for Innovation and Technology".
The Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) became joint forum founding members in November last year.
The other founding members are the EMLYON Business School, KPMG SA, the City of Lyon and Lyon Chamber of Commerce in France.
The Deputy Chairman of ACE and Co-President, World Entrepreneurship Forum, Inderjit Singh said: "ACE, together with public and private sector partners, have been nurturing promising innovative start-ups to become global enterprises.
"We have seen significant results in fostering a pro-business environment and entrepreneurship among our youths.
"The forum this year will give us an opportunity to share our experience in promoting entrepreneurship. It is to also learn more about entrepreneurship and innovation from global thought leaders and experts," he said in announcing the forum here.
Meanwhile, Jeffrey Nadison, chief executive officer (NTU Innovation), President’s Office, Nanyang Technological University and Chairman, World Entrepreneurship Forum Singapore 2011 Organising Committee said this year's forum speakers will address the impact of technology on four main themes of Innovation and High Growth companies, Entrepreneurship at the Base of the Pyramid, Entrepreneurial Cities, and Entrepreneurial Education.
"This event will help us build awareness of these high-achievers, and will provide our local entrepreneurs with a rare opportunity to network and share best practices with their peers from over 60 countries," he added.
Some 450 participants are expected to attend.
