'Iran studying invitation to Bonn conference'
TEHRAN, Oct.5 (MNA) - Commenting on the fact that Iran has been invited to attend the Bonn 2nd conference on Afghanistan, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast said that Iran is studying the invitations.
Michael Steiner, Germany’s representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan and Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul have invited Iran to send representatives to the conference.
Mehmanparast stated that approaches that will be adopted in this international meeting to help resolve problems facing Afghanistan and “the roles Afghan officials will have in determining them as well as the roles regional countries will have regarding the issue of Afghanistan will determine whether or not Iran will participate in the Bonn conference and will also determine the level of its participation.”
However, the issue of Afghanistan is high on Iran’s foreign policy agenda, he added.
