MALAYSIAN PM NAJIB CHECKS ON FINAL 2012 BUDGET PREPARATIONS

PUTRAJAY (Bernama) - Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Tun Razak
Thursday night monitored final preparations involving Finance Ministry's staff
ahead of Friday's tabling of the 2012 Budget.

Najib, who is Finance Minister, spent about one hour at the ministry, during
which he also chaired a closed-door meeting with senior ministry officials.

Present were his wife, Rosmah Mansor, Second Finance Minister
Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, Deputy Finance Ministers Dr Awang Adek
Hussin and Donald Lim Siang Chai.

Treasury Secretary-General Dr Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah, Chief
Secretary to the Government Mohd Sidek Hassan as well as Bank Negara
Governor Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz were also present.

Najib is scheduled to table Malaysia's 2012 Budget at the House of
Representatives at 4pm.

In remarks made ahead of the event, the prime minister said that it would be
a transformational budget for all Malaysians in line with the concept of
1Malaysia: People First, Performance Now.
