COCA-COLA, WWF MALAYSIA TEAM UP FOR WATER RESOURCES CONSERVATION INITIATIVE

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- The Coca-Cola Company, the world's largest beverage company, and WWF Malaysia have teamed up to organise a three-year "Protect Our Water, Protect Our Lives" project.

The project will be implemented by WWF Malaysia using a fund of over RM800,000 from the Coca-Cola Company, both companies said in a joint statement.

The project aims to ensure greater protection of the water supply for the states of Kedah, Penang, Perlis, Selangor and Pahang, thus improving water security for the livelihoods of millions of water users.

Besides benefiting the local population, it will also help ensure
continuation of tourism activities here, which attracts approximately 110,500 people annually.

The Coca-Cola Company President (Pacific Group), Glenn Jordan said, "This investment in Malaysia is part of our commitment of the global water stewardship plan, which aims to improve water usage efficiency, recycle water used in our operations and replenish the water we use through community water access and watershed restoration and protection."
