Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation provides 5, 000 schoolbags to Libyan children
Tripoli - Oct 13, 2011 (WAM) - Unified UAE Relief Team in Libya have received over 5, 000 schoolbags from the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation. The UAE Ministry of Interior has also dispatched over 15, 000 police kits and other equipment to its Libyan counterpart.
The assistance is part of the air bridge ordered by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to support the Libyan people in this critical stage.
Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Aziz, Commander of the Unified UAE Relief Team, said the distribution of schoolbags to the children will be in coordination with the Libyan Ministry of Education. He added that the relief supplies sent by the UAE were met with gratitude to the UAE leadership and peoples.
For his part, Omer Hussein Al Khadhazi, an official at the Libyan Ministry of Interior thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE people for moral and material support to the Libyan people. He added that the UAE Ministry of Interior was the first institution to provide support to the Libyan Police. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
