Malaysia Pavililion At Telecom World To Showcase Broadband Achievement

GENEVA (Switzerland), Oct 25 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Pavilion at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World here has the combination of modern and traditional elements while showcasing the country's broadband achievement.
The design of the pavilion was inspired by the "Labu Sayong", a Malay earthenware container, that preserves the purity of water.
It also reflects the development of technology that has emerged from strong Malaysian traditions while being proof that culture and technology are compatible.
Malaysia is participating in the ITU Telecom World for the third time and involves a collaboration between the Ministry of Information Communications and Culture and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
Information Communications and Culture Minister Dr Rais Yatim will launch the pavilion on Tuesday.
The pavilion will also showcase Malaysia's achievements in the implementation of the Wifi Village, and the distribution of 1Malaysia netbooks to students which is an unique programme.
The event has the participation of Celcom, Digi, Maxis, Measat, Telecom Malaysia Berhad (TM), Yes-Mobile Internet Innovation from Yes and the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Malaysia.
It is being held in conjunction with the four-day ITU Telecom World which began on Tuesday.
